Yungblud and Aerosmith release “My Only Angel (Desert Road Version)” Ft. Steve Martin on banjo

A little over a month after the release of their first joint single, “My Only Angel,” which immediately topped the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD surprise fans with a new version: “My Only Angel (Desert Road Version).” This stripped-down, emotional reinterpretation reveals a new side to this already cult track, taken from their collaborative EP, One More Time, due out on November 21 on Capitol Records.

This alliance between the rock and roll legends and the new British rocker, who is sweeping everything in his path, had already caused a sensation.

But where the first version shone with its intensity and passion, the new version reveals an unexpected fragility. Raw energy gives way to sincerity: the guitars are softer, the production is lighter, and the voices of Steven Tyler and YUNGBLUD blend with an almost confessional emotion.

The most surprising moment of this “Desert Road Version” is when a banjo comes in! It’s Steve Martin who adds his own touch to the track, bringing an unexpected new sound. There’s almost a hint of country in this version, giving the song a fresh texture while staying true to its emotional essence.

A quick reminder about these two iconic artists: Aerosmith needs no introduction. It’s a band that has made its mark and sold over 150 million albums worldwide. Frontman Steven Tyler is known for his powerful voice and impressive high notes. YUNGBLUD is the rock revelation of the year. He is everywhere. After paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, whom he likes to call his “North Star” and whom he saw as his idol, his career took a different turn. He conquered the United States with a tour that sold-out in minutes, followed by a sold-out European tour to celebrate and present his fourth album, Idols.

This unexpected collaboration breathes new life into today’s rock music and, above all, marks the return of Aerosmith.

YUNGBLUD first connected with Aerosmith during a studio session for the nine-minute epic “Hello Heaven, Hello.” What began as a single collaboration quickly turned into a creative spark strong enough to inspire a full writing session — ultimately giving birth to the five-track EP One More Time. The project features four brand-new songs, co-written and co-sung by Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD, along with a freshly remixed version of “Back In The Saddle.”

Produced by Matt Schwartz, the EP captures the explosive meeting of YUNGBLUD’s raw energy and emotional honesty with Aerosmith’s timeless rock craftsmanship. Joe Perry’s guitars roar with signature grit, while Steven Tyler’s unmistakable vocals blend seamlessly with YUNGBLUD’s distinctive tone. Behind the drums, longtime friend Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver) completes this powerhouse collaboration.

The One More Time EP artwork was designed exclusively by Chrome Hearts’ Joe Foti, a first for the luxury brand, and is available now to pre-order digitally, as well as on limited-edition vinyl. Presave Here.
